Discussion

  • Digital Disciple Making Network and Name Change
    • We dived deep into the transition from the Media to Movements Coalition to the Digital Disciple Making Network. The significance of this name change took center stage, with discussions revolving around its alignment with the organization's goals, outcomes, and inclusivity of digital strategies. We want to engage with anybody who is involved in digital strategies that are about reaching unreached people and helping them become mature followers of Jesus who help others become mature followers of Jesus. We feel that the name digital disciple making network is more descriptive of our aim and our desired outcomes. It also includes people who are maybe more in the reached Nations, coaching groups and teams that does media to movements and more.
  • Challenges and Opportunities in Digital Strategies
    • We delved into the challenges we face in training individuals in regions like the Middle East and East Asia for digital strategies. The complexities arising from the tension between the need for physical training and its resource limitations were highlighted, with a focus on navigating these challenges through multi-organizational efforts.
  • Resource Sharing and Collaboration
    • Resource sharing emerges as a crucial theme, with participants offering insights into free courses, training materials, and various groups for media producers. The importance of collaboration is underscored, emphasizing the need for organizations to work together and build upon existing resources.
  • Digital Engagement Strategies and Technology as a Tool
    • We collectively explored different digital engagement strategies, including social media and mobile platforms, underlining the significance of technology as a tool to accomplish our mission at an unprecedented speed and scale. We emphasized the need to leverage digital tools for evangelism, discipleship, and reaching specific people groups.
  • Media Outreach and Disciple Making Methodologies
    • Our conversation touched on diverse approaches to media outreach and disciple making methodologies. The consensus among us was that there isn't a one-size-fits-all strategy; instead, our focus should be on aligning with biblical principles and recognizing the work of the Holy Spirit. The introduction of a global media team aiming to serve others in the movement became also a focal point. We collectively acknowledged that there isn't a universal approach to Disciple Making Strategies (DBS), and the key is to learn from diverse approaches and partner with the Holy Spirit.
  • Digital Bible Society and Movements
    • We heard insights from the founder of the Digital Bible Society, shedding light on the successful use of solar-powered devices for scripture in regions like Africa, India, and Mexico. The catalyzation of movements through packaging DMM and DBS resources with scripture was a powerful example.
